In January 2003, I was diagnosed with adult-onset epilepsy, I was told I would have it for the rest of my life. It was horrible news for me, my family & my friends. This was a really big problem. It was huge like a mountain! We felt scared, sad, and we cried... a lot!
It was a new year (2004), and I was recovering from TMJ surgery, a bi-lateral modified condylotomy. My jaw bones had been cut, my mouth wired shut, along with lots of physical therapy to re-learn how to use my mouth. In some ways, I was better... but something wasn't quite right
We all do it from time to time. Even though it's not fun, most of us seem to spend a LOT of time doing it!
It happened last Sunday morning in Trinity Kids, ages 3-9 years old. We had just talked about this Bible Story: Jesus blesses the children. Then we talked about how important all the kids must be to God. We talked about the fact that God sees them all.
I kept missing parts of my day, and couldn't remember ANY new information. After numerous doctor visits, tests, and scary episodes, I was diagnosed with adult onset epilepsy, complex partial seizures. I was terrified!
It’s kind of like holding a pose in yoga. (which I admit I don’t do very often.. LOL) just holding still, and letting the muscles do all the work. It’s not always easy. I have to focus, and I feel the burn! Even though there appears to be nothing happening (on the outside) during this time of being still, there is lots going on…
On one of our family outings... You know the kind where you just drive to see where you end up? My youngest daughter, Hannah, asked me the question, "Mom, why are you driving down this road?"
Just wanted to encourage you today!
+If there is anything you need, pray and ask God to help you.
+When you pray, believe that God will help you.
+PRAY God's Word because His Word is alive and powerful!
What is the first thing you do when you encounter a problem or need some help of any kind? Although we sometimes freak out for a bit, we need to remember to call on Jesus.
You may feel inadequate for what God has called you to do. Do you need more income? You may feel like your marriage is on the rocks. Maybe you have lost your job, or feel like it may happen at any time. Do you need a break? Feel like you're in a constant struggle against something? Is sickness your weakness?
So... how do you get started?
You don't have to take a lot of time. Begin with a Bible verse. Talk about what it means. Ask your kids what they need to pray about, then talk to God about it. You don't need a special formula to pray (talk to God). Just speak to Him as you would talk to your friend.
Life with Jesus is great! I'm so thankful for the love HE has for everyone!
Read this so you will hear... and know... and believe!
When my girls were younger, I remember some nights of being so tired that I felt like just going to bed and skipping prayer and Bible reading time with them. I have to admit that there were some nights that I skipped it, but those times were very rare because one of my girls would always say, "Mommy, aren't you going read to me and pray with me?"
Ever have one of those days, when you just keep thinking about a problem over and over? Not only are you thinking about it continuously, but you begin to talk about it, too! By this point, you have a vicious cycle taking place. It's the whole concept of "what goes in is what comes out".
To be blessed means to have God's favor and divine protection on your life, so....
A Blessed Life = A Happy Life

Last weekend in our kids ministry was exceptionally awesome! There was lots going on, and I was rushing around as usual. Then, I stepped into our elementary worship service. I entered during the 10:45 service, just as they were getting ready to pray.
