In January 2003, I was diagnosed with adult-onset epilepsy, I was told I would have it for the rest of my life. It was horrible news for me, my family & my friends. This was a really big problem. It was huge like a mountain! We felt scared, sad, and we cried... a lot!
Change is a beautiful thing!
I love change. I would say that I love change more than most people…. especially in ministry. I’m not talking about a complete overhaul, (although sometimes it is necessary, and I love it!) but I’m talking about tweaks here and there that will bring life to an area that seems to be overlooked or challenging.
There are two important things to do when trying to figure out which areas need change….
Are you new to kids ministry or looking for ways to learn how to be a more effective leader?
This is what I have learned over the last 22 years in kids ministry:
I have used What's in the Bible videos in kids ministry for years. It has been and still is one of my TOP 5 KIDS MINISTRY RESOURCES! Phil Vischer and his team have done a super job creating a product that teaches the Bible in a fun way that kids (and grown-ups) never forget :)
How have I used these videos in kids ministry?
It happened last Sunday morning in Trinity Kids, ages 3-9 years old. We had just talked about this Bible Story: Jesus blesses the children. Then we talked about how important all the kids must be to God. We talked about the fact that God sees them all.
Do you have a plan in place in case of a medical emergency in your #KidsMinistry? Being prepared with an Emergency Responder Team is a really big deal that is often overlooked in churches.
Qualities of a good check-in system
Whether you check-in the kids in your ministry electronically or not, the following qualities are on my list for getting kids checked-in quickly while keeping them safe!
It’s Sunday morning, and the families of your church are wanting to quickly drop off their kids into your kids ministry so they can get to the worship service. With everyone in a hurry...
Pasta fun!
Are you looking for a fun, inexpensive craft for the holidays? You can use these colored pastas to make all kinds of fun stuff!
Do you ever find yourself struggling to keep up with all the demands of kids ministry? Is it difficult to find enough volunteers, or are you scrambling each week to have everything ready for the weekend? I’ve been there many times, and these three keys have opened the door to successful wins in kids ministry.
